I am a graduate of OSU, worked 37 years for Nationwide Insurance, have lived in California, New York State, Michigan, Illinois and Ohio, directed and sang in church choirs, soloed in oratorio around Ohio, played trumpet a bit.  My wife, Jo, and I have three children and four grandchildren, have been married over 50 years.

    As, probably, like most of you, my photography for years recorded family activities and travel.  In the mid-90s a pro photographer friend saw some of my photos and urged me to get with it, and  improve my work.  As I got involved with art groups, I had the good fortune to meet many talented and generous folks who have helped me in many ways - and who continue to do that.....thanks.

    I do some work with film, particularly medium format, but most work now is 35 mm digital.   Most of my printing, matting and framing is done in my dry lab and larger work is outsourced.

    Photographic software is used sparingly, primarily to manipulate some flower photos toward outrageous or imaginary or hoped-for color schemes.  For example, if it's a purple hosta, why isn't it really purple?

    Concentration on travel, flowers and scenic photography happily ties in with our pleasure in travel, hiking in parks and along rivers, and the beauty of flowers all around us.
